We will be offering a number of new painting and drawing classes that explore different techniques and materials. These classes are for anyone that is interested in developing their creativity. You don't have to have previous experience in art to join in the fun! These classes are for anyone!

Friday, March 11, 2016 Sketchbook/Collage Class (Part 1)
***This class is part one of a two part class. We will be working in our sketchbooks learning the importance of ideas and how to translate them from our minds to a blank piece of paper. The whole purpose of this class is to, by the end of it, feel more comfortable translating our ideas on larger paper/canvas. We will be learning some basic drawing techniques such as value scales, contour drawing, gesture drawing, still life drawing, etc... and practicing those techniques in our sketchbooks. We will also be learning the importance of materials and will become more familiar with a lot of different ones and how to use them. We will practice using watercolors, pencil, pen, charcoal, chalk, and pastels. We will be doing a bit of collage work as well within the sketchbook. You will need to bring your own sketchbook to this class. Be sure to bring a sketchbook that is sturdy. All other materials will be provided.
Friday, March 18, 2016 Sketchbook/Collage Class (Part 2)
***This class is part two of a two part class. We will be continuing our exploration in our sketchbooks as well as working more on our collages. We will be having a mini critique session and then the last half of this class we will be choosing an image from our sketchbooks to translate to canvas. You will need to bring your own sketchbook to this class. Be sure to bring a sketchbook that is sturdy. All other materials will be provided.
